About Canvas Recruitment & Welfare

The courier job is very rewarding and we know you will gain lots of wonderful memories as well as some extra skills during your season. The experience is great for making you a more confident and capable person and should leave you fully equipped to deal with whatever challenge you look to do next.

There’s no better way to give you an insight than through courier comments so here are a few from previous seasons just to give you a taster:

”One of the best bits of the season was the tents! I never knew how great it was living in a tent. The great outdoors test everything about you as a person and you come back home and marvel at the warm showers and the walls!!”
Sally Watkins – Perros

”Have had a great summer. Montage was fantastic, funny and the season was a good laugh. Some days were hard work but you just have to remember where you are. You could be stuck in an office bored out of your brains! Great summer all round."
Serena Nevard – Eden

”Over the last few weeks I’ve worked for Canvas Holidays I’ve enjoyed myself more than I thought I would. Working with the children has been so rewarding and very moving at times, especially children you enjoy having at Hoopi’s Club. ”
Samantha Hoffman – Bois de Valmarie

”I had a fantastic summer. It’s been hard work, sometimes stressful, but the good times far outweigh the bad. The cleaning isn’t even the worst part – in fact once the music is on you turn into Mrs Doubtfire and the hours fly by! ”
Kris Berry – Playa Bara

”Working for Canvas was brilliant and I would suggest it to anyone who would like, or is thinking about being a courier. I have improved my language skills and learnt and improved customer service skills which are invaluable for the future. If in doubt about the job – just go for it – you’ve got nothing to lose, just lots to gain. ”
Lynsey Wale – Berny

”Working and living with my colleagues on site was great fun – I have so many good memories of the summer. Silly things like daft running jokes and catchphrases which made life on site so much more fun! ”
Tom Wood – Grolejac

”We both enjoyed our first experience of working as campsite couriers for Canvas Holidays. The most difficult period was the initial on site learning how to clean tents and mobiles. Eventually we got into our stride and afterwards we never looked back. ”
Peter and Shirley Tompkins – St Laurent

”I have learned heaps of new skills which I would have never imagined at the start of the season. The people I have met and worked with have definitely made the season. Some people I know will be great friends for a long time to come. ”
Kim Moore – Interlaken

”Sometimes the customers can put you in a bad mood but then there’s other times when you finish talking to them and walk away with a huge smile on your face. ”
Louise Freeman – Bois de Valmarie

”The experience was fantastic. I met so may good friends and had such a brilliant summer. I enjoyed Hoopi, seeing all the kids happy and having a good time. I really enjoyed customer visits, integrating with them, enjoying the odd glass of wine and a chat! ”
Nicola Gibson – St. Raphael

”It was clear to me that “people” like Canvas. Many were long standing customers, with tales to tell. Others thought Canvas were the best, so it was good to represent them. The work was hard, but enjoyable, Vicky and I had our routines, but we also had time to spend together, and we had some real laughs. ”
Alex and Vicky Semple – Bourg D’Oisans

”One of the best parts was organising customer parties and then being able to see the customers enjoyment – especially when they made friends with other families. It was a real mission to get beer, wine and soft drinks for 20 families back from the shops on foot but well worth it. ”
Ellie Warren - Biarritz

”After six seasons I still enjoy this lifestyle. Meeting friendly people, seeing the most amazing places and also getting a top tan while working. ”
Michelle Bridges – North Italy, Croatia and Austria

”Thanks for another great summer. Every time I do this, it just gets better and better – I’m already looking forward to next year! ”
Lucy Matthews – Perros

”We'd be lying if we said it wasn't hard work but it's balanced with such positive experiences. You get to live in fabulous locations surrounded by bright, lively, like-minded people. ”
Tess and Charlie - Butterfly

”Loved my summer, think about the fun, banter and laughs every day!! Don’t think I’ll do it next summer due to other commitments. However, I’ll be back! ”
Scott Baptie – Grolejac

”I loved my season. I was placed brilliantly for my needs and met great people. I have loved the camping experience. ”
Debbie Mitchell – St Aubin

”Thanks for a great season. It was brilliant. I really would like to say that my supervisor and area manager were brilliant. They were so supportive and made a challenging experience a great experience. ”
Fran Taylor – Zagarella

”Another demanding but very enjoyable experience. We look forward to a fourth successful season in 2009. ”
Teryl and Alan Batsch – St Valery

”Overall I had an excellent season and was proud to be working for such an excellent and well run company. ”

Nicole Guthrie – Port Grimaud

”On the morning of my departure I sat fretting about working abroad; whether I'd make friends, enjoy being away from home etc; when I heard a song on the radio. Looking back now, the title of this song summed up my first season perfectly. The song? Time Of Your Life (Green Day). A truly life changing experience. ”
Rebecca - Port Grimaud
